Making sure your website does not have duplicate content is also very important. Duplicate content will affect your Google search engine rankings.
Both broken links and duplicate content could be holding your website back down lower in the search ranking results. So it is best to try and fix them up as soon as possible. You also use Google Webmaster tools to show you where your broken or not found links are.
