Follow This Simple(Golden) Rule for Better Google Ranking
A while back I wrote a post about knowing Your real Ranking in Google Search.
The importance of knowing your real Google Ranking for your Keywords, and the rankings of other websites is critical for your achieving better search engine ranking. Thinking your up on page one of Google search for some large volume(high seo value) keywords is great. Only later you may find you are nowhere near page one.
On the other hand, you may think you are way down in the search results, when you are really up near the top in the Google search ranking results.
Having this false idea about where you are ranking for certain keyword terms, could have you wasting a great deal of valuable time.
The Golden Rule is “you must log out of your Google account(s) before doing any Google Search Engine Rank checking or related seo work.”
The reason you need to log out when you are checking the search engine rankings is that Google is constantly adding your searches(search preferences) to your search results, if you are logged into your Google Account(s).
So while you are logged in you are really only seeing your search history results being used by Google to create your search preferences. That is why you will sometimes be seeing your pages rank really high up in the Google search results for your chosen keyword terms.
This is also happening when you do your Keyword research. Whether you are using the
free Google External keyword tool to do your keyword research or a paid keyword tool, your results will not be accurate unless you are logged out of your Google account.
Google is doing this to make it easy for you to find what you are looking for, when you need to browse for something on the web. Google tracks your search behavior, then tailors(Shapes) your returned results to suit your need. .
This is good for doing your shopping online, but it’s a disaster for checking your search engine rankings or doing keyword research or other Seo work.
Your Real Google Search Ranking Versus Your False Ranking
In case you are not convinced of how different your search engine ranking positions will be, have a look at these screenshots showing logged in and logged out results for the same Keyword search terms.

You may have also noticed that some website’s pages for the chosen search keyword terms, are Ranking in the same position(Or close) whether we are logged in or logged out. You may find that some of your websites pages are ranking higher logged out( for certain keyword search terms).
